The character Jeff is inspired by a couple of people I used to work with at the job I didn't like. They were both super talented and had been at the job for a long time, and quite honestly didn't have any business being there. Their talents should have been devoted to something much more important and inspiring than ad design. In fact, one of them used to work for a major animation studio. They didn't need to be there. But they both were. They had their reasons. I'm sure it was more complicated than being able to just quit on a whim.

I learned a lot from them about both life and art, and those are my best memories of that job. I know they both got out of there some time after I did, and that made me feel a lot better about their respective situations.
