Here's a fun, convenient way to add more duress to a fight: give one of the key combatants a serious injury early on. It limits what they can do and adds much interesting pyschology to a fight against basic minions that may otherwise not be interesting. Also, battle-damaged characters are super cool, although it can get tedious to draw it over and over again, as well as keeping its appearance consistent.

Still, it is so add that the Samus Squad keeps getting the best of Stu and Evil Bad Guy Ninja. Maybe these guys just aren't as inept as most minions. They are Bob's personal guard, after all.
