And Now, the Champion
Original Release Date: December 6, 2011
I like the catching-up between Stu and Paul. It sounds natural, and we know Stu is comfortable around him as he cracks jokes and seems a bit looser than normal. We can tell these guys are good friends and have a storied history. I like Paul's facial expressions here, too, especially in panel four--he knows Stu better than to believe he's just there to catch up, and gets right down to business, the thing he's best at.
Panel three, the reverse silhouette, is something I liked to use on occasion to add variety to an unchanging scene. I think it's very easy to start to overuse it, though, or even use it as a crutch, so I tried to limit how often it came up.
The last panel troubles me--it needed some more time and attention. I wish you could see just a little more of Paul's face, and I wish his fingers weren't covering up Invader X's picture. Why would I do that?! I think I was more interesting in making sure the "Also Featuring" info at the bottom of the flyer didn't get covered up. I was too proud of my fake wrestling names and references to real wrestlers and video game wrestlers.
