I like the details on this page that indicate Renee and Ohtani have been working hard. Renee's hair is all disheveled and she has bags under her eyes, there are no less than three fountain drinks on the desk, along with a cup of coffee, and the books and papers seem more scattered than before.

In a nice touch of continuity, Renee and Stu are still using the Turtle Comms. I'm really glad I introduced those. I am pleased with this subtle, running infringement of copyright.

Unfortunately, there's a major tension killer in our midst: Stu's comment about an upcoming 15-hour drive. Why did I do this?! Why was I so obsessed with this whole Monument Valley thing? Its remoteness from San Francisco really kills the momentum of the story. In hindsight, if I wanted to hide the Viisi compound under some remarkable landmark, I should've picked El Capitan or Alcatraz or something, anything, closer to San Francisco. But no. Saving the world will first require a 15-hour drive. How exciting.
