Original Release Date: February 7, 2006
This would be the first encounter between truckers and ninja in Mike and the Ninja, and we get a hint at the beef their unions have with one another. I didn't have the reasons for the trucker versus ninja conflict completely worked out at this point. If I had, Stu would have known better than to ask a trucker for help. We'll call it desperation. At least I'm finally spelling San Francisco correctly.
I really liked the idea of a truck stop being our world's equivalent of a Mos Eisley cantina--common ground where travelers of all sorts gather to relax and take a break from their journeys. I've never seen a fight at a truck stop, but I still have this weird idea of them being these rough-and-tumble outposts out on the frontier. I illustrated this by throwing some Star Wars characters into the background, and a shady-looking dude who is actually supposed to be The Red Eye from The Tick, although you can't really tell it's him because you can't see his eye.
