Villainous Inconvenience
Original Release Date: January 11, 2011
I wanted to discuss Mike's question in panel one. This was something I added in on the spot because I realized there was a plothole I needed to address. Why isn't Jeff completely loyal to Bob? He should be like Todd--brainwashed and villainous. When something like this happens, my typical defense mechanism is to have somebody in the story ask about it, as Mike does here. Jeff doesn't have an answer, which is okay. I clearly didn't have one, either, but I did want to address the situation in some way. Maybe he's immune. Maybe he really is just too crotchety of a guy.
Artistically, the first panel is pretty cool. I like it. I wish Mike and Jeff's running postures looked more urgent, though.
I added in the lettering on the display in panel three digitally. It's a bit messy because my illustration of the monitor isn't quite square, so when I tried to fit the text to the display and adjust for the angle, it got a little janky. It's not a big deal, but is a little irritating to look at all these years later.
