I'm sure there were some Bee Man fans (and believe me, there are a lot of Bee Man fans out there, it turns out) who were disappointed in his unexpectedly sudden and eventless demise. But as far as I'm concerned, it was about time Mike and Stu caught a break. Even with Stu's ninja prowess, I don't think there's anyway he and Mike beat Bee Man here in a straight fight. Maybe if there was a nearby fire hydrant, they could pull off a miracle. But, as Stu explains, they luck out because Bee Man's human lack of reason got the better of him.

I have often considered writing and drawing a short, Bee Man-focused side story. It would either focus on Bee Man's unseen adventures between his appearances in Volume 2, or it would assume that some of the bees survived the rain, and Bee Man would live on and have additional adventures.
