2-Minute Warning
Original Release Date: April 30, 2013
The warning announcement is taken directly from Aliens, when the LV-426 colony is about to explode due to its ruptured power plant.
Ohtani's dialogue in panel one is clumsy. I don't know why I felt like he needed to sugarcoat what needs to happen. Not only is it unnecessary--he's dealing with battle-hardened Stu, after all--it's also confusing for the reader. They may not know what Ohtani meant until panel four, when Stu tells Evil Bad Guy Ninja he'll have to kill him if he can't get The Six out of his head. Ohtani also assumes that Stu knows what the plan is, when he probably doesn't because he's been locked in a fight with Evil Bad Guy Ninja across the room. He can probably figure it out on his own, but not necessarily. The panel one exchange is extremely unclear, and it's one of the bigger failings of the writing in the endgame.
Now, the rest of the page is pretty good! Stu doesn't want to kill his friend, and you can tell from his pleas that he's getting desperate. The astute reader may also notice Evil Bad Guy Ninja is sweating and starting to shake, which are subtle signs that The Six are starting to lose their hold on him. It's all very exciting.
