Original Release Date: August 25, 2006
I don't have too much to say about this one. It looks like this could have been the start of a running "what's Mike's last name" gag, but it never comes up again. I do like the cohesiveness and continuity created by the trucker running into this page from the previous page. It does a lot to make the truckstop seem like a large place with a lot of stuff going on, and it establishes that Mike, Renee, and Stu are, in fact, all in the same building.
Starting with this page, my comic output increased to an almost weekly pace for about two months, which was an unprecedented amount of production at the time. After I graduated from college, I took a couple of months to recharge, but by August, I was feeling a bit like a schlub and had no bites on the few jobs I had applied for, so it was really important that I hurry up and get a job and get back to being creative, so I was applying for a lot of jobs and drawing a lot of comics. Where I was not finding a job, producing comics made me feel like I was still accomplishing something.
