On the Run Again
Original Release Date: January 24, 2008
Drink it in, folks. This is the first (and only) appearance of Nonviolent Robot Antagonist. Its programming dictated that it couldn't directly attack anybody, so it had to find alternate means, such as directing its prey off a cliff. Had NRA appeared again, I had intended for it to try to drive Stu into open manholes, under hanging pianos, and this sort of thing. The idea of a robot villain who can't directly inflict violence on its enemies is kind of funny, but it doesn't make a lot of sense, and it was very difficult to work it in when writing future pages, so, as I mentioned previously, the robots were ultimately written out of the story.
Also, I don't remember this, but according to the original blog that accompanied this page, I drew it in 2006 and didn't do the digital editing and publish until 2008. That's too bad; this page would have made a much better cliffhanger than when they drove off with the truckers in pursuit. Imagine if you had to wait over a year to find out what happened after the truck went off the cliff?!
