Stu Versus San Francisco, Part 12
Original Release Date: September 9, 2008
Mike poorly faking his way as the attorney general roughly parallels my ordinary, non-fake conversations with people. Also, you'll notice Tiffany calls Mike "Mr. Black." The actual California attorney general at the time of this page's creation was named Brown, so I stuck with a color and just changed it to Black.
Mike's inner monologue here is something of a callback to his self-coaching when he was in the bathroom with Evil Bad Guy Ninja. It technically works again here in that it gets him through a tough spot, but it doesn't matter because Tiffany already deciphered Mike and Renee's ruse when she overheard them flapping their lips a few pages back.
I love this sequence between Mike and Tiffany. Mike does so well here--he keeps his cool, and just when you think that maybe he has her fooled, everything comes crashing down. Also, Tiffany's reveal in the last panel is meant to be a shocking moment. Thus far, she appears to be a voluptuous, but inconsequential member of Pratt's staff, and then NOPE. Gun and saaviness out of nowhere.
